Fear: release date, cast, plot, trailer, interviews and everything you need to know

Fear on Prime Video stars Martin Compston, Anjli Mohindra and Solly McLeod.

Fear is a new Prime Video thriller series starring Line of Duty’s Martin Compston and The Lazarus Project's Anjli Mohindra as a couple broken by a neighbor’s allegations. They play Martyn and Rebecca, who are thrilled to move into their new house in Glasgow with their two young children. But they soon find themselves facing allegations that are every parent’s worst nightmare and, worse still, there’s nowhere to turn for help.

Based on the book Fear by Dirk Kurbjuweit, here’s everything you need to know…

Fear release date

Fear is a three-part series launching in UK and Ireland on Prime Video from Wednesday March 4 2025.  We will update on the US launch and channel when we hear.

Is there a trailer for Fear?

Yes there's a Fear trailer, which opens with dad Martyn saying "Welcome to Glasgow kids!". Something tells us there's trouble brewing, however. Take a look below...

Fear plot

In Fear, Martyn (Martin Compston) and Rebecca (Anjli Mohindra) are excited to move out of London and into a beautiful new home in Glasgow. But while the new neighborhood seems idyllic at first, Rebecca is unnerved when their neighbour Jan (played by Tom Jones’ actor Solly McLeod) makes some unnerving comments, especially as he'd seems so kindly and nice to them at the start. This then turns into something altogether more intimidating and the couple find themselves facing horrendous accusations but the authorities refuse to step in.

Fear cast — Martin Compston on playing Martyn

Martin Compston who plays Martyn says of the accusations hurled about by Jan in Fear: " ‘It’s probably the worst thing any parent can be accused of and, these days, an accusation seems to stick before there’s any evidence."

With the authorities refusing to step in, Martyn and Rebecca feel helpless, so Martyn feels he must take drastic action to ensure his family aren’t living in fear… ‘"t’s an awful time for the Berwicks, but we also learn Jan has endured a horrific past,’ Martin reveals. "This drama poses two questions: ‘How far would you go to protect your children?’ and ‘How much does historic childhood trauma excuse present behaviour..?"

* Martin Compston is best known for playing Steve Arnott in Line of Duty. He has also starred in The Rig, Traces, Mayflies, Our House, Vigil, The Nest and Monarch of the Glen

Anjli Mohindra on playing Rebecca

Anjli Mohindra, who plays Rebecca in Fear, says: "‘Jan appears to offer friendship and a sense of community, which is what Martyn and Rebecca have perhaps been starved of in London. Jan appears to Rebecca as this wounded soul, so you feel for him. But it’s not long before the relationship turns on its head and we start to see more of Jan’s insidious tendencies…"

* Anjli Mohindra, has previously starred as Archie in the hit series The Lazarus Project. She’s also had roles in Bodyguard, Vigil, Munich: The Edge of War, Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures and The Missing.
