FBI Director Christopher Wray has disclosed that his agency has recovered three explosive devices in connection with the investigation into the Trump rally shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks. Wray stated that two of the devices were found in Crooks' vehicle, while the third was located at his residence.
Describing the devices as relatively crude, Wray emphasized that they had the capability to be detonated remotely. He further revealed that receivers for the explosive devices were found in Crooks' vehicle, along with a transmitter that was in Crooks' possession at the time he was killed by law enforcement.
Wray clarified that due to the on/off position of the receivers, attempting to detonate the devices from the roof would not have been successful. However, he underscored that the explosives were still considered dangerous despite this limitation.
In addition to the explosive devices, the FBI also recovered a drone believed to have been used by the shooter. The drone, along with its controller, was found in Crooks' vehicle and is currently undergoing analysis at the FBI lab.
