FBI Investigating Agent For Inappropriate Post On Trump Assassination Attempt

FBI Director Christopher Wray recently disclosed during a House Judiciary Committee hearing that an internal investigation is underway within the agency regarding a concerning incident involving a post related to former President Trump's assassination attempt.

Wray made these remarks while testifying under oath about the Trump rally shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, and the subsequent probe into the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks.

During the hearing, Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, inquired whether any FBI agents had communicated disappointment or made inappropriate comments regarding Trump's survival of the assassination attempt. Wray responded that he was not aware of any agents expressing such sentiments but acknowledged one instance of an individual posting content that he deemed 'outrageous, totally inappropriate, and unacceptable.'

The individual in question has been referred to the FBI's inspection division for an internal investigation, as confirmed by the agency's director.
