The FBI has successfully gained access to the phone belonging to Thomas Matthew Crooks, the individual who opened fire on former President Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. This development marks a significant step in the investigation into the incident.

While the FBI has not disclosed the specific information found on the phone, they have confirmed that their investigation into Crooks and the shooting is ongoing. The agency initiated its probe shortly after the attack on Saturday and has been actively pursuing leads.

Agents visited Crooks' residence as well as the homes of his parents in the days following the shooting. The FBI is treating the incident as an assassination attempt and is also exploring the possibility of domestic terrorism.

Following a thorough search of Crooks' residence and vehicle, the FBI has stated that these areas have been cleared. Additionally, the agency has conducted over 100 interviews with law enforcement personnel, event attendees, and other witnesses. The investigative efforts are continuing as the FBI seeks to gather more information and insights into the events surrounding the shooting.
