The drone was observed flying around 200 yards from the stage for approximately 11 minutes, with indications that the shooter was monitoring a live feed from the drone on his phone.
The FBI's investigation, which commenced immediately after the rally shooting, is being pursued on multiple fronts. Officials are treating the incident both as an attempted assassination and a potential act of domestic terrorism. The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired multiple shots at the former president before being neutralized by a US Secret Service counter sniper.
Wray reiterated that the FBI believes the shooter acted alone and utilized a legally purchased rifle. Despite ongoing investigations, there is currently no evidence of co-conspirators involved in the assassination attempt.
