Over the weekend, FBI Director Kash Patel instructed bureau employees not to immediately reply to an email from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) requesting them to outline their work accomplishments. The email from OPM had asked employees to provide a summary of their achievements from the previous week in approximately five bullet points by Monday night.
In an email addressed to bureau employees, Patel emphasized that the FBI, under the Office of the Director, is responsible for overseeing all review processes and will ensure that reviews are conducted in compliance with FBI protocols. He urged employees to refrain from responding to the OPM email at this time and assured them that any further information needed would be communicated to them for coordinated responses.

Similarly, employees at the National Security Agency (NSA) were also advised to hold off on replying to the OPM email until they receive additional instructions from the Department of Defense.
These directives come amidst a period of heightened scrutiny and review within government agencies, as they navigate through various administrative processes and evaluations. The cautionary approach taken by the FBI and NSA reflects a commitment to ensuring that responses to official inquiries are managed efficiently and in accordance with established procedures.
