Health officials in Fayette County have put out a survey to residents to assess the health of the county. The Fayette County Community Health Assessment is conducted every five years. The information gathered is broken down and analyzed and presented to county leaders.
Christy Nentwick is the project manager for the Lexington/Fayette County Health Department. She said the pandemic will be an interesting factor in this year’s assessment.
“During COVID we had a lot of inequities and a lot of needs that came to light regarding everything from access to both preventative healthcare, access to transportation, access to technology.”
She said they made it a point to put an emphasis on mental health in the survey.
“I anticipate it to be one of the issues that comes to the forefront when we receive the results when we analyze this. We are specifically asking questions about mental health, about your ability to access mental health.”
The voluntary survey is online and hard copies can be found at the Lexington/Fayette County Health department and all Lexington public library locations.
The surveys must be returned before December 16th.
