Faye Winter has revealed she was the one who ended things with Teddy Soares after 18 months together.
The former flames met and fell for one another in the 2021 series of Love Island and even moved in together shortly after the show wrapped.
But, unfortunately, things weren't to last between the pair as it was speculated the pair had gone their separate ways for weeks before Faye, 27, confirmed they had split.
Faye and Teddy did keep silent over the split for a while, with Faye appearing to make cryptic comments on social media.
But, 28-year-old Teddy then spoke out saying he "had a voice again" after his breakup from Faye.
Now Faye has discussed the split as she revealed she was the one who called time on their romance.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Faye explained: "It was definitely my decision to end the relationship."
Before the pair went their separate ways, Faye admitted there was a time she "didn’t know if we were going to work things out".
She added: "I was very open to seeing if there were small changes that could be made, but it didn’t work out that way."
Now, Faye is 'grieving' her failed romance as she explained: "I think with any break-up and any grieving process, it comes in waves. You know, sometimes the sea is like a millpond and then all of a sudden there will be a big wave.
"There are still some days where I get really emotional, but it’s been easier to try and move on knowing there is full closure now."
The star has since been embracing the single life as she recently enjoyed a trip with some of her fellow former Love Islanders including Sharon Gaffka, Liberty Poole, Kaz Kamwi and Abigail Rawlings.
However, Faye has revealed she is nowhere near ready to start dating again.
She revealed: "I’m nowhere near in a position to be thinking about anybody else or even considering dating, but right now I’m still having waves of grief, but not every day, every couple of hours.
"It’s just one of those things, you’ve got to go through it. It’s hard to have somebody who you were so close to become just a stranger."
However, the star, who shared dog Bonnie with her ex before their split, added: "I do feel like now, I can be on my own."
Faye also shared her reaction to Teddy's comments on their split, as he said: "I feel like I have a voice again, I feel like I’m coming out of my shell and going out more. Which is nice."
Sharing how she felt about Teddy's comments, Fay revealed: "I feel like everyone deals with things differently and Teddy – probably rightly so – knew what would get him some sympathy. I think people realise that Teddy was out of the country a lot during our relationship. He was on nights out all the time. Teddy did live his life and he went out with his brothers and I never stood in his way."
She adds, "Teddy did what he wanted and we were happy together. It’s a shame that we’re no longer together, but it is what it is."
