A mum has blasted her partner after he offered to make a sandwich for their daughter.
The father had his efforts at a lunch for their daughter plastered all over Reddit after the rather miserable-looking cheese sandwich he made failed to impress mum, with some commenters evening going as far as to label the attempt “child abuse”.
Taking to Reddit, the mum shared an image of a single slice of white bread cut down the middle, with a measly spread of butter not even reaching the edges and the smallest sprinkle of grated cheese, which is not apparent unless you give a good look at the picture.
The mother, who did not leave her name or any other information, captioned the image: “This sad cheese sandwich made for our daughter's lunch today". Which was posted in a Reddit forum dedicated to bad food.
People were quick to flock to the comments pointing out that they were absolutely amazed at how a parent could try to pass off the sandwich as an attempt at lunch, with some Redditors even going so far as to label it as “child abuse”.
One person commented: "Weaponised incompetence like this is a form of emotional abuse both to the child and partner."
While another added: "Negligence, but not abuse unless there is proof of repeated behaviour."
One more posted: "Don't be fooled! Your husband simply does not want to get stuck on lunch duty and is trying to appear as unqualified as possible in order to never be asked to do this again. It's the only way this makes sense."
Another commenter added: “Your husband was actually gonna pack this for his own daughter? I feel bad for your daughter honestly. He couldn't take 30 more seconds to make her a real sandwich?"
One more posted: "This is honestly unacceptable," and another commented: "Straight to jail."
