A father who was found dead along with three young children in Surrey has been named locally as Piotr Świderski.
Police discovered the bodies in a property in Bremer Road, Staines-Upon-Thames, around 1.15pm on Saturday.
The children - said to be three brothers under the age of four, including two twins - reportedly lived at the house with their mother and their father Mr Świderski, a Polish national.
Distraught neighbours have described them as “three lovely children” who were “always happy”.
Surrey Police have not confirmed their identities, but previously said the children were all under four and were related to the man.
Officers are investigating the “tragic” deaths, but believe it was an isolated incident with “no third-party involvement”.
Neighbour Shehr Sikandari told MailOnline he had heard a woman’s “horrific screams” a short while before police arrived on Saturday, describing the experience as “unbelievable and traumatic”.
“We are still in shock,” he told the news website. “Three lovely children - we have seen them playing. It's a lovely family.
“We moved in here two months ago so we've had just a few interactions.
“The children used to play in the back all the time - making noises of joy, jumping around, playing and being very happy.
“They were full of life. They used to often go for a walk in the park or a stroll.”
Another neighbour described the boys to MailOnline as “always laughing and happy”.
A floral tribute left outside the house on Sunday read: “Rest in peace little ones. We will always think of you.”
The children’s mother and their next of kin are aware and being supported by specialist officers.
DCI Gareth Hicks who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a truly tragic incident and a thorough investigation is underway to establish exactly what happened.
“We would like to thank the local community for their support and understanding whilst we have been conducting our enquiries.
“We can also now update that whilst Bremer Road was closed for a significant amount of time yesterday, it has now fully re-opened and there will continue to be a police presence in the area for the foreseeable.”
Post-mortems and formal identification will take place in due course.
Surrey Police has also completed a mandatory referral to the police watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to previous police contact with those involved.
An IOPC spokesperson said: “We have been notified by Surrey Police about the tragic incident in Spelthorne.
“We will be assessing a referral from the force to decide whether any action is required by the IOPC.”
