Father Christmas storytelling shows bringing festive magic to Merseyside

Father Christmas is heading to Merseyside for a series of storytelling sessions in the run up to December 25.

Children can listen to festive stories, expect plenty of audience participation and even get a photo with the big man himself. The Father Christmas Storytelling shows are taking place at the Imaginarium Roundhouse, in Prescot on Saturdays and Sundays in November and December, with some extra dates during Christmas week.

Audience members can also expect joke competitions, plenty of silliness and fun at the event, with three 45 minute shows held each day. There will be candy floss, popcorn and hot and cold refreshments available from the Imaginarium Bistro situated next to the Roundhouse, where there is also accessible facilities.

A relaxed show is available for those who need things a little quieter on December 19 at 12.30pm. Imaginarium‘s Artistic Director Gaynor La Rocca said “We are thrilled to have Father Christmas Storytelling show back at the Imaginarium Roundhouse after the runaway success of last year’s run. We loved seeing the faces of children and parents as they stepped into our big top heated cabin to be greeted by the REAL Father Christmas and his elves.

“There is a special kind of magic in the Roundhouse when the tree is up, the fairy lights are twinkling, and the smell of candy floss and popcorn fills the air – there really is no better place to enjoy the Christmas season!”

Gav Cross Storyteller - who is the cousin of Father Christmas - added: “There is nothing more exciting than the roar of pure excitement, joy, and laughter from an audience. My magical cousin loved his time at the Roundhouse last year, being able to share time with so many local children and families was so much fun, he cannot wait to meet them all again, with a brand-new festive show!”

Tickets for Father Christmas Storytelling are £10 per person with under 2s free. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Shows are 45 minutes long and start at 12.30pm, 2pm and 4pm. Tickets are on sale now through the Imaginarium website or in person (after 5pm weekdays, from 12pm weekends) from the Imaginarium Bistro, 1 Market Place, Prescot. Further information on the shows availability, content, or general information can be found either on the Imaginarium website.
