Fans of one of Bristol's most popular burger restaurants are concerned for their future. Both branches of the Burger Joint on North Street in Southville and Whiteladies Road, Clifton are currently listed on Google as temporarily closed.
It is not yet clear what the closures mean for the future of the business and whether they are set to reopen at a later date. BristolLive has reached out to Burger Joint for clarification.
Founder Dan Bekhradnia opened the first restaurant back in 2009 and the brand quickly became known for its build-your-own burgers. He decided to sell up in 2021 after more than 12 years as owner after he relocated away from Bristol and sought a new challenge despite both restaurants' successes.

Mr Bekhradnia passed the baton over to new owners in 2022 after completing the sale in the spring. He previously told BristolLive that the new owners had no plans to change how the restaurants operated and he would assist them in the early stages of the changeover.
Burger Joint was one of the first gourmet burger bars in Bristol having first opened in 2009 on Whiteladies Road and later expanding to North Street in 2012. The mini chain opened a third branch in Fishponds in 2016 but closed two years later after a review of the Bristol food market and the site's performance.
The UK hospitality industry has faced a tough few years battling forced closures during the pandemic and now a tough economic climate where costs are rising and consumers are spending less. There were a number of restaurant and bar closures in 2022 that cited these issues as the reason why their businesses were no longer viable.
