Tragedy struck a mobile home retirement community in St. Lucie County on Florida's eastern coast as a tornado tore through the area, resulting in multiple fatalities. St. Lucie County Sheriff Keith Pearson confirmed that more than one person has lost their life in the devastating event.
Search and rescue efforts are currently underway, with approximately 200 individuals from state and local agencies combing through the retirement community to locate and assist those who may be trapped.
