Two individuals, including a four-year-old boy, tragically lost their lives in a recent Russian drone and missile attack on the Kyiv region. The attack occurred overnight into Sunday, resulting in the discovery of the bodies of a 35-year-old man and his son under rubble in Kyiv's suburban Brovary district. Additionally, three others in the district sustained injuries due to missile fragments falling on a residential area.
Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, noted that this was the second time this month that Kyiv had been targeted. While ballistic missiles did not reach the capital itself, the surrounding suburbs bore the brunt of the attack. Fortunately, drones attempting to target the capital were successfully intercepted and shot down.
Meanwhile, in Russia, the regional governor of Kursk reported that 13 individuals were wounded when a Ukrainian missile, intercepted by Russian air defenses, struck a residential building. The Russian Defense Ministry disclosed that 35 drones were shot down overnight in various regions, including Kursk, Voronezh, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Oryol.
Although Ukraine has not officially commented on the attack within Russian territory, there has been a noticeable escalation in the frequency of attacks targeting Russian regions in recent weeks. The situation remains tense as both sides grapple with the consequences of these military actions.
