A man tragically lost his life in a fatal shooting incident involving Las Vegas police officers. The victim, identified as Brandon Durham, 43, made a desperate 911 call during a home invasion, expressing fear for his life and the lives of others present in the house. Durham reported hearing gunshots outside his home and believed that a trespasser was attempting to harm them.

During the harrowing 911 call, Durham provided details to the dispatcher while reacting to the alarming noises coming from outside. The situation escalated quickly, leading to a confrontation between Durham and the trespasser, ultimately resulting in Durham being shot by police officer Alexander Bookman.

Body-worn camera footage released by the police captured the intense moments leading up to the fatal shooting. Another individual present in the house, identified as Alejandra Boudreaux, was involved in a physical struggle with Durham before the tragic incident occurred.

The suspected trespasser, Boudreaux, is facing multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and home invasion. In a disturbing revelation, Boudreaux admitted to feeling suicidal prior to the incident and expressed a desire to be shot and killed by police.

The incident marks the 13th shooting involving a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer this year, with authorities confirming it as the eighth fatality. Durham's family has called for accountability, urging for the arrest of Officer Bookman. However, Bookman's attorney maintains his client's innocence, stating that no crime was committed.

An internal investigation is underway, and Officer Bookman has been placed on paid administrative leave pending its outcome. The police have acknowledged a prior 911 call to Durham's house, which should have provided them with crucial information about the individuals involved in the incident.

Legal proceedings are ongoing, with Boudreaux currently in custody and set to appear before a judge. Durham's family lawyer has criticized the police response, alleging carelessness and negligence in handling the situation.

This tragic incident has raised concerns about police procedures and the need for thorough investigations to ensure accountability and justice for all parties involved.
