A Mexican rapper known as "Fat Flow" has been sentenced to over 30 years in prison after being found guilty of kidnapping seven migrants and demanding tens of thousands of dollars for their release.
The incident took place in 2023 when Fat Flow, whose real name is Jesus Antonio M.M., led a criminal group who abducted the group of migrants, who were being taken to a stash house in Juarez.
After intercepting the migrants, the group led by the rapper forced the migrants into their vehicles and told took them to another property where they held them for several days. The Chihuahua Attorney General's Office added that the migrants told they would be murdered if they couldn't get $16,000 each for their release.
The migrants were not able to quickly raised the sum, and for five days the captor debated what to do with them, ultimately deciding to kill them. Local police found out about the kidnapping while they debated and set out to liberate them, managing to do so before the executions.
