Fast food takeaway plans for old bookmakers shop in Kilmarnock hit the skids

Proposals to transform an old Ayrshire bookmakers into a fast food takeaway have been withdrawn.

The former Coral betting shop at 16 Lindsay Drive in Kilmarnock was earmarked to be transformed but plans have been removed from consideration.

Gugy Summel, who owns the New Farm Premier Store next door, was behind the bid according to documents lodged with East Ayrshire Council planners.

Mr Summel wanted to alter the use of the property from a vacant licensed bookmakers to a fast food takeaway.

No reason has been given for the withdrawal of plans.
