Rangers have reportedly booted out a loan bid from Ligue 1 club AJ Auxerre for the services of forward Fashion Sakala.
The versatile attacking player was brought to Glasgow from Belgian top flight side Oostende last summer and played 50 times with 12 goals and seven assists during his debut term. He has proven a regular fixture in the forward line alongside Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and others, with that attracting interest from Auxerre according to Homme Du Match.
Their one-year loan request has been booted out though by the Ibrox club, with the report claiming 'many hopes are placed'. The newly-promoted top tier club are said to be impressed by the speed of the Rangers forward line and it is that quality which has attracted them to Sakala. But it is anticipated the Zambian will remain in Scotland as boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks to spark a Premiership title charge after Celtic claimed glory in May.

They will also have Champions League qualifiers to navigate in August and will discover their opponents for that this month.
On the transfer front it has been quiet with only defender John Souttar arriving, but Croatian striker Antonio Colak has been heavily linked with a switch.
Forwards Morelos, Kent and versatile Joe Aribo all see their contracts expire next year.
