Dundee boss Gary Bowyer has claimed Fashion Sakala should have been handed his marching orders at Ibrox.
Rangers narrowly defeated the Scottish Championship outfit 1-0 at Ibrox thanks to Steven Davis' early strike to secure a spot in the semi-final of the Premier Sports Cup. The Light Blues earned a trip to Hampden off the back of the victory and will come up against Jim Goodwin's Aberdeen following their 4-1 win over Partick Thistle at Pittodrie.
The Dark Blues pushed Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men all the way under the lights in Govan and believes there is plenty for his side to take from the quarter-final defeat. However, he reckons whistler Willie Collum could have helped his side out by showing Sakala a red card for a flashpoint involving Cammy Kerr. The pair were handed yellow cards each for the tussle, but Bowyer reckons the Rangers man was lucky to stay on the park believing he should have been shown the red, in a decision that could have changed the game.

He said: "There are lessons for us to take going into the remainder of our campaign.
"But I think that the game could've changed had the lad [Sakala] been sent off.
"Which, looking back at it, we feel that he's kicked out at Cammy Kerr. We definitely feel it should've been a red card."
He added: "We're proud of what the players did tonight, but it's tinged with the feeling of, we could've done more," he added.
"From what I've seen from us since I came in the building in the summer, we feel a little bit... (disappointed). In terms of our organisation and how we kept them at bay, it's pleasing.
"I feel like we could've tested Jon McLaughlin more. Listen, they're top players that we're playing against but we thought we'd have opportunities.
"Then it's about being positive and making better decisions, and in the end Jordan McGhee's header is a good opportunity.
"I'm pleased at certain aspects, but we need to tidy up on others going into our league campaign.
"What I've learned is that we want to come to places like Ibrox more often, we want to rise to the challenge of playing at this stadium and a team of Rangers stature."
