Fashion Sakala Rangers penalty celebration captured as footage shows unique angle of smiling striker

A new angle has captured beaming Fashion Sakala clenching his fist in celebration as he lies on the turf after winning the crucial penalty from which Rangers scored their second goal in the 2-2 Ne’erday derby draw against Celtic. The Zambian was a standout for the Light Blues in the game and he went down under a Carl Starfelt challenge with captain James Tavernier converting the resulting spot kick for his 100th career goal.

However, it has been debated whether Celtic’s Swedish defender made any contact with the striker and the image of smiling Sakala is sure to add to the anger of Hoops legions who believe he went down too easily before John Beaton pointed to the spot. Rangers strike legend Kris Boyd said on Sky Sports that he didn’t believe it was a penalty and that Sakala actually stood on Starfelt. He said after the game: "I'm still not sure whether it's a penalty or not. I think Sakala stands on Starfelt.”

The new footage has emerged from ‘Inside Ibrox’ where the club provide a unique angle of the game and it shows Sakala on the ground, clenching his first towards the Rangers supporters sitting in the Copland Road Stand.
