Fashion Sakala as Rangers striker solution for Celtic shut down with 'problem' pinpointed in blunt Kyogo contrast

Celtic hero Peter Grant reckons Rangers should NOT turn to Fashion Sakala to spearhead the attack on derby day.

Michael Beale has been urged to give the Zambian the nod ahead of Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak by some pundits and Ibrox supporters ahead of Saturday's trip to Celtic Park, with the pace of the 26-year-old pinpointed as a key factor in stunning the Scottish Premiership leaders on their own patch. But Grant reckons Sakala, who scored against Celtic last season during in the 1-1 draw at Parkhead, isn't the solution for the Londoner.

He reckons that the Rangers forward doesn't have the key attributes that will be needed to shrug off Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers, because he is not a "great receiver" of the ball like Kyogo Furuhashi. Speaking to Go Radio on the likelihood of Sakala leading the Rangers attack, Grant said: "My big problem with Sakala is that the fact that I don’t think he is a great receiver of the ball.

"He wants the ball in behind. I think he does that better from the side of the pitch because he has more space to turn.

"I don’t think he has that old striker movement of coming short and spinning like Kyogo has got. I am not sure Sakala is that type of player. He wants to be running on to the game.”
