$9.3m Purse On Offer At The Farmers Insurance Open 2025
This week’s Farmers Insurance Open event in San Diego will see Frenchman Mattheiu Pavon look to defend the title he won last year.
He joined some legendary golf players who have won the event including Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson.
Pavon will be joined by the likes of Hideki Matsuyama, Ludvig Aberg, two-time winner Jason Day, Justin Rose and Shane Lowry who are all present at the event.
Two big names who won’t feature are Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa who have both withdrawn.
Aberg is the front-runner with the best golf betting sites in the UK – with the next in the market including Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, Keegan Bradley and Tony Finau.
Rising star Aberg has only played one event so far in the 2025 PGA Tour season – finishing T5 at the season-opening Sentry in Hawaii. That event was won by Matsuyama who opened his season with a $3.6m paycheck.
All the action gets underway on January 22, with the PGA Tour opting for a Saturday finish to avoid clashing with the NFL’s Conference Championship games.
The Prize Money For The Winner Is $1.67m
Ludvig Aberg could be in for a big £1.67m prize if he was to prevail at The Farmer Insurance Open.
While the runner-up will walk away with £1m and third will win £641,700.
Even the player that finishes as low down as 65th will earn £19,995 for their troubles.
