Farida Jalal, who has been a part of the Indian films industry for the past 57 years, is one of the most loved actors we have in Bollywood. Her character in Aditya Chopra's 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' is undoubtedly one of the most memorable one.
In an interview with a news portal, Farida recently opened up about the Shah rukh Khan and Kajol starrer and how it changed her career for good. According to her, DDLJ gave her a career boost and placed her on a pedestal. Calling the film a turning point in hr life, the veteran actress added that she got a lot of offers for films after that. And the best thing was that she was able to quote any price she wanted for the films.
Elaborating further, Farida added that she played a supporting character in DDLJ and after the release of the film, the placement of her name in the credits also changed. According to her, it means a lot to a character artist like her.
The veteran actress also went on to share an interesting anecdote from the iconic movie. She revealed that most of the film was shot at a studio, including their London house, the song 'Mehdni laga ke rakhna' and so many other scenes. Farida added that she never went to London to shoot the film.
'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' was re-released on the occasion of Valentine's Day this year. It is one of the longest running films in the history of Indian cinema.
