Fantasy Football: Wide receiver starts and sits for Week 7

Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Tyreek Hill, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.

Let’s look at wide receivers for Week 7.

Start: DJ Moore, WR, Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are going to be starting an undrafted rookie out of a division II college in Tyson Bagent, this may cause some fantasy managers to be weary of starting their stud wide receiver over other options. While we haven’t seen much of Bagent, what we have seen is promising and there is little doubt who he will be targeting plenty in Sundays game against the Raiders. DJ Moore is going to get his targets and don’t be surprised if he either hits the century mark or finds the end zone, he is that good. Start as a WR2 this week because of his quarterback situation, but don’t shy away from the Chicago receiver.

Start: Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, New York Giants

Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

This New York Giants offense isn’t something anyone should be jumping for joy about starting but there is one breakout player people are not talking about enough, and that is second year receiver Wan’Dale Jones. Last week against the Buffalo Bills, Jones saw eight targets and caught all eight balls thrown his way. Jones has seen his workload increase each of the last four weeks and the Giants seem intent on getting him the ball. Whether Daniel Jones returns to play or not, Wan’Dale Jones is a very respectable flex option in PPR leagues, and his breakout game feels right around the corner.

Sit: Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Indianapolis Colts

Thomas Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Coming off a 100-yard game against the Jaguars, fantasy owners might have renewed hope in the Colts’ number one wide receiver. While Pittman certainly did have a good game with Gardner Minshew as the starting quarterback, his fortunes could change this Sunday. With the Browns boasting one of the top defenses in the league and Pittman seeing plenty of top tier corner Denzel Ward, it may be best to temper expectations for the big wide receiver. Find other options this week if you can and keep Pittman on the bench.

Start: Amari Cooper, WR, Cleveland Browns

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

It didn’t really seem to matter that Deshaun Watson was out last week versus the 49ers, Amari Cooper still saw a heap of targets from P.J. Walker and cashed it in for over 100 yards against one of the top defenses in the league. This week the Browns have an easier task against a middle of the pack Colts defense. Walker is still going to look Cooper’s way plenty and he should be able to take advantage of this secondary. Fire Cooper up as a WR2 once again on Sunday.

Sit: Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Zay Flowers had a nice game last week finding the end zone for the first time in his career in a win over the Titans. After seeing 19 targets in the past two weeks it may be hard to bench Flowers in PPR leagues, but this week he gets a surprisingly good Detroit Lions pass defense. Baltimore may want to try and keep it on the ground against the Lions and Flowers may be well blanketed regardless. Move off Flowers if you can, but he is still a fine flex option if you can’t find a better option.
