When it comes to competition, one of the best ways to get an edge on the opposition is through prior preparation. In fantasy football, that way of thinking certainly applies. Here at Bet For The Win, we’re doing the preparation for you.
There were many duds in Week 7 of the NFL season, enough to make fantasy mangers everywhere lose their minds.
But may the past remain in the past. It’s a new week, and there are several players to be high on and most definitely some to be low on. We’ll identify them as we present to you Week 8’s studs, duds, and sleepers.
Studs
QB Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles
It’s not that Pittsburgh’s defense is horrendous or anything like that. Jalen Hurts is just really good. He’s great with his arm, and the extra oomph that he brings as a rusher is what makes him a must-play QB in Week 8 (and every week).
RB Derrick Henry – Tennessee Titans
Defending ordinary NFL running backs has been a tall task for the Houston Texans. Defending Derrick Henry is going to be a whole different level.
WR Deebo Samuel – San Francisco 49ers
Deebo has a long history of cooking the Rams. Don’t expect anything to change in Week 8.
TE Mark Andrews – Baltimore Ravens
I mean, he had a donut last week. He’ll makeup for that this time around.
Duds
QB Justin Fields – Chicago Bears
Justin Fields is playing well, and Monday’s game against the New England Patriots was probably his best game of the season. But he’s about to have his hands full trying to deal with Dallas’ defense.
RB Najee Harris – Pittsburgh Steelers
Maybe volume leads Najee to relevance this week in fantasy leagues. However, I’m not suggesting yo take that risk.
WR Amari Cooper – Cleveland Browns
Playing against Cincy’s secondary is tough, and I don’t expect much from Cooper considering the Browns will likely emphasize pounding the ball up the middle against Cincinnati’s banged up front.
TE George Kittle – San Francisco 49ers
Kittle isn’t as involved as he once was, and it seems as though his weeks will depend on if he score a TD or not. But there’s a low bar to clear for tight end relevancy, so maybe he’ll be okay this week. I’m not counting on it.
Sleepers
QB Daniel Jones – New York Giants
Jones has likely been hanging around your fantasy football league’s waiver wire for some time now. I know that his past is what scares you, but hey, he’s playing good football. Pick him up. Play him. Enjoy.
RB Raheem Mostert – Miami Dolphins
Mostert has moved into the grouping of guys you should probably play every week. He’s the clear RB1 in Miami and is playing well. That shouldn’t change this week against the Lions.
WR Mike Evans – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mike Evans in two primetime games this season has 13 catches for 174 yards and 3 TDs. He knows what to do when the national tv audience is tuned in. Watch him thrive on Prime Video against the Ravens on Thursday.
TE T.J. Hockenson – Detroit Lions
If Amon-Ra misses the game with a concussion, who else is Jared Goff going to throw the football to?
