You’re waking up on Tuesday reading all that you can about the players that you should be picking up off the waiver wire as you prepare for Week 12 of fantasy football in 2022.
But it’s likely there aren’t as many things written about who you should be dropping to grab those players. That’s what this weekly column — keep ’em or dump ’em! — will hopefully answer for you: Some help in the debate over who you should keep or drop in order to improve your team.
It’s not the biggest of waiver wire weeks, but let’s dive in to help you with who to keep or drop:
1
Any high-profile backup RB
Just a reminder that if you’re heading toward a possible playoff spot: Back your running backs up! Especially for your top guys. Don’t go dropping Deon Jackson or Elijah Mitchell! One injury could change your fortunes quickly.
VERDICT: Keep them
2
RB Nyheim Hines, Buffalo Bills
There was a little bit of hope he’d carve out a pass-catching role with the Bills after Buffalo traded for him. But he hasn’t, and James Cook is next in line behind Devin Singletary.
VERDICT: Drop him
3
TE Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers
One touchdown this season and one game this year above 37 yards. There are better tight ends to grab.
VERDICT: Drop him
4
WR Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals
Even if Ja’Marr Chase comes back, I’d be curious to see if Boyd carves out some kind of role in the next couple of weeks.
VERDICT: Keep him
5
WR DJ Chark, Detroit Lions
I had some hopes he’d be a part of the Lions’ offense after returning from injury, but: Nope.
VERDICT: Drop him
6
WR Diontae Johnson, Pittsburgh Steelers
Diontae Johnson has had ONE top-24 performance this season.
That happened back in Week 3 and he finished as WR23😬#fantasyfootball #NFL #HereWeGo pic.twitter.com/PJSzJge25g
