Smith had some success against Lions cornerback Amani Oruwariye in 2021, and the season opener offers an exciting matchup.

Oruwariye. He has allowed 1,315 receiving yards over the last two seasons, sixth-most among cornerbacks per PFF.

Jeff Okudah’s 31.3 coverage grade over the last two seasons ranked second-worst among 169 qualifying cornerbacks, and the expectation is that Detroit will play a ton of man coverage.
