Fantasy Football: Quarterback starts and sits for Week 9

Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Tua Tagovailoa or Jalen Hurts, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.

Let’s look at quarterbacks for Week 9.

Start: Taylor Heinicke, Atlanta Falcons

(Syndication: The Tennessean)

The Atlanta Falcons are moving off of second year quarterback Desmond Ridder in favor or wily veteran Taylor Heinicke in hopes he will jumpstart this offense. Heinicke is not afraid to air it out, and against this Minnesota pass defense with a spoil of weapons surrounding him Heinicke is set up to have an excellent first start. Fire Heinicke up as a spot starter in daily fantasy leagues or if you are using matchup based QBs.

Start: C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans

Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

C.J. Stroud had a rough week against fellow rookie Bryce Young as the opposing Carolina Panthers’ defense showed up big in their shutdown of the Houston offense. This week Stroud finds himself against a much more forgiving defense in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Stroud has a multitude of weapons to take advantage of a shaky Tampa secondary, and should return back to his usual production which plants him firmly as a high end QB2.

Sit: Tyson Bagent, Chicago Bears

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It was a bit of a fall back down to earth for Bagent who couldn’t do much in a blowout loss versus the Los Angeles Chargers. This week Bagent finds himself starting once again against an even tougher defense in the New Orleans Saints. It is a less than ideal place for what could be Bagent’s final start of the season, and it is ill advised to start him up in any format.

Start: Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

It is looking like things are starting to click for Bryce Young, this offensive line, and the coaching staff in Carolina. With a huge first win of the season Young showed off some high tier quarterback tier, and while that doesn’t necessarily translate to a heaping of points, it could versus a vulnerable Indianapolis Colts defense. Young is solid daily fantasy starter or QB2 in two quarterback leagues.
