Fantasy Football: Potential bargains, must-plays from Giants-Cowboys game

The New York Giants (2-7) head to the Lone Star State to face the Dallas Cowboys (5-3) at AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The game sizes up as a one-sided affair with the Cowboys a 17-point favorite on most wagering platforms. Not many points are expected to be scored as well. The over/under is currently 38.5 total points.

An offer for Giants fans

Fantasy players could bypass this game totally but there are always nuggets to be found. Here are three fantasy plays for you to consider.

Dallas defense

The Cowboys’ defense appears vulnerable at times, especially when they play teams with winning records. That’s not an illusion.

What also is not an illusion is how well they play against teams with losing records and struggling offenses — such as the Giants.

The Giants are the worst offense in the league, averaging just 11.2 points per game, and are on pace to finish among some of the most inept units in recent NFL memory.

In Week 1, Dallas shut the Giants out, 40-0, and racked up 37 FPS on DraftKings. With rookie UDFA Tommy DeVito expected to line up under center again, this is a mismatch that fantasy players will be hard to pass up.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb

CeeDee Lamb is absolutely on fire these days, averaging a league-high 29.3 FPS per game since Week 6.

The Giants have not been lousy against wide receivers this year but with the team circling the drain, they appear to have been second-guessing themselves and allowing big plays down the field.

Lamb is in a premium spot here and should be in your yearlong lineups as well as getting serious consideration in DFS.

Cowboys RB Tony Pollard

Tony Pollard has been a bit of a disappointment this season after a strong start. He’s had less than 10 FPS in four of his last five and his touches and targets have been dwindling depending on game flow.

He won’t have to worry about that this week. This game should be a cakewalk for the Cowboys and Pollard should get plenty of work against a Giants’ defense that has allowed the 10th-most FPS to running backs this season.
