Most Fantasy football enthusiasts will likely stay away from the New York Giants-Washington Commanders game this Sunday at FedEx Field but fans of both teams won’t be able to help themselves and will likely dive right in.
If they are compelled to do so, what is there to pick from in this dumpster-diver of a game?
Fear not, we have some ideas they might like, although my initial instinct is to steer clear of this stinker.
Here are three plays to consider.
Washington QB Sam Howell
I know you’re looking at the Week 7 game in which the Commanders lost, 14-7, at MetLife Stadium when the Giants sacked Sam Howell six times and held him to his second-lowest fantasy output of the season.
Since then, the Giants have fallen off a cliff. Their defense has been a complete mess since allowing the Jets to come back to beat them in the final minute of their Week 8 contest.
Over their last two games, the Giants defense has logged in zero and -1 point efforts. Pathetic. They have allowed 79 points and recorded zero sacks.
Meanwhile, Howell is surging. He has thrown for 300 or more yards three weeks in a row and now leads the NFL in passing yards, averaging 28.2 FPS on DraftKings over that span.
Washington defense
The Giants are not only the worst offense in the NFL this year, they may be the worst offense in the NFL in recent memory.
They are last in points scored, last in yards gained, and are on pace to challenge for the worst point differential in the franchise’s 99-year history.
The only points the Giants have been able to muster the last two weeks were at garbage time.
It just makes sense to play the defense that is facing this disaster of an offense, even if it is the Commanders, who have sorted just 5.0 FPS on DK over their last three.
Washington RB Brian Robinson Jr.
Brian Robinson has been coming on after a slow start. He is back to being one of the most versatile backs in the NFL and is placed nicely here against a Giants’ defense that has allowed the fifth-most FPS to running backs this season.
Robinson appears to have re-taken the lead role in the Washington backfield and has had two strong weeks in a row. He has eight total touchdowns on the season.
