Fantasy football 2022: New York Jets preview

Knowledge is power and the greatest asset you can acquire in order to compete for a fantasy football championship.

Here's your 2022 preview of the New York Jets, the 28th of 32 team profiles during draft season:

— 2022 Fantasy MVP: Elijah Moore, WR

Moore (ADP: 85) taking the next step is predicated on quarterback Zach Wilson being healthy and improving on his rookie season, but that is the case with everyone I'm writing about here. From Week 8 through Week 13, only Justin Jefferson and Deebo Samuel outperformed Moore in standard formats — only Jefferson, Keenan Allen and Cooper Kupp topped him in PPR. This is the upside we're dealing with.

— 2022 Fantasy Sleeper: Corey Davis, WR

The former fifth overall pick in 2017, Davis (ADP: 204) has Per 17 Games averages of 73 receptions (112 targets), 1,091 receiving yards and seven touchdowns the last two seasons. He was WR26 in standard formats (WR33 in PPR) through the first seven weeks before a hip injury derailed his season. He's essentially free in drafts and will likely end up a priority waiver wire target if he's healthy and gets off to a quick start.

— 2022 Fantasy Bust: Breece Hall, RB

The two-time consensus All-American has the size and skills — Hall (ADP: 39) is very capable in pass protection — to be a three-down back, but I don't anticipate Michael Carter just disappearing altogether. He was very good as a rookie — from Week 4 to Week 11, Carter was PPR's RB13 before injuries intervened. I expect Hall to deal with a timeshare, at least to begin with, and that makes him one of the riskier picks currently going in the fourth round.

— 2022 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Garrett Wilson, WR

Wilson (ADP: 122) can threaten a defense at every level, but will need to improve against physical press corners because of his lean frame and play strength. I imagine he'll slide into the slot to begin the season and fill the void created by Jamison Crowder's departure during free agency.
