Here's your 2022 preview of the Houston Texans, the ninth of 32 team profiles during draft season:
— 2022 Fantasy MVP: Brandin Cooks, WR
Cooks (ADP: 58) has finished as WR20 or better in six of his eight seasons in the NFL. The two times he didn't was his rookie season (2014) and the last year he had Jared Goff throwing him the football (2019). He's currently being drafted as a WR22 in most drafts.
— 2022 Fantasy Sleeper: Nico Collins, WR
With defenses focusing their attention primarily on Cooks, Collins (ADP: 206) should find himself in one-on-one situations most of the time, at least until he utilizes his great combination of size (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) and speed to make opponents pay. He made highlight-reel catches throughout training camp and deserves consideration as a late-round flier.
— 2022 Fantasy Bust: Marlon Mack, RB
It's hard to pick a bust on a team where there's not much expectations for success. I'm choosing Mack (ADP: 166) because he had some success in Indianapolis before an Achilles injury and is only 26 years old, so some might expect him to bounce back. Assuming he is fully recovered — no guarantee considering the injury — there's not much upside with a running back who doesn't catch many passes playing for a team that will likely find itself trailing a bunch.
— 2022 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Dameon Pierce, RB
Unlike Mack, Pierce (ADP: 120) does have solid hands out of the backfield. With Rex Burkhead and Dare Ogunbowale also competing for touches, I don't imagine the former Gator will have that hard of a time conquering this depth chart, which could make him the key to many zero-RB draft strategies this season.
