Fantasy football 2022: Dallas Cowboys preview

Knowledge is power and the greatest asset you can acquire in order to compete for a fantasy football championship.

Here's your 2022 preview of the Dallas Cowboys, the 29th of 32 team profiles during draft season:

— 2022 Fantasy MVP: CeeDee Lamb, WR

Lamb (ADP: 21) is currently a second-rounder who could catapult to a top-10 overall selection in 2023 if everything comes together. Frankly, the 23-year-old Pro Bowler was very good his first two seasons, but because his counting stats were just good — he averaged 77 receptions, 1,019 yards and six touchdowns — some in fantasy feel he failed to meet expectations. Well, if he did, those expectations were unreasonable. I expect Dak Prescott to funnel targets to Lamb right of the gate with Amari Cooper in Cleveland and Michael Gallup (ADP: 151) potentially out until October.

— 2022 Fantasy Sleeper: Tony Pollard, RB

I'm not ready to bury Ezekiel Elliott (ADP: 26) quite yet — Zeke is a wizard in pass protection and still has a decent nose for the end zone — but there's no denying Pollard (ADP: 82) will play a valuable role in this offense (he finished as fantasy's RB28 in PPR last season). He's a premium flex option with RB1 upside if Elliott goes down.

— 2022 Fantasy Bust: Dalton Schultz, TE

Schultz (ADP: 64) finished as TE3 in fantasy last season after turning in a TE17 performance in standard formats (TE11 in PPR) the year before. I believe he's going to land somewhere in between this season, which means I'd much rather select him two or three rounds later.

— 2022 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Jalen Tolbert, WR

Gallup will miss the opener at least, which means Tolbert (ADP: 169) is a WR3 in a great offense with a chance for an extended audition as the WR2. He faced only one Power 5 program over his final 34 games in college, but showcased his explosive talent with seven receptions, 143 yards and a touchdown against Tennessee last November.
