Fantasy football 2022: Cleveland Browns preview

Knowledge is power and the greatest asset you can acquire in order to compete for a fantasy football championship.

Here's your 2022 preview of the Cleveland Browns, the 19th of 32 team profiles during draft season:

— 2022 Fantasy MVP: Nick Chubb, RB

There are two elite constants in Cleveland's offense: Chubb (ADP: 16) and the Browns' offensive line. The Pro Bowl ball carrier has finished RB10-or-better for three straight seasons in standard formats, and no worse than RB13 in PPR over that stretch. Chubb has never averaged fewer than 5.0 yards per carry in any of his four seasons. His Per 17 Games averages the last three seasons: 1,790 total yards and 12 touchdowns.

— 2022 Fantasy Sleeper: David Njoku, TE

Only George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews and Dallas Goedert are making more money than Njoku (ADP: 158) at the position — indicative of the commitment Cleveland made in the offseason. The Browns used two tight ends in about 45% of their plays in 2021, significantly more than the average, and targeted the position 142 times. Harrison Bryant (ADP: NA) will have value as well, but I anticipate Njoku getting the lions' share of targets and producing top-10 value (he's currently being drafted as a TE16).

— 2022 Fantasy Bust: Amari Cooper, WR

I'd consider Cooper (ADP: 65) anywhere after the eighth round, but not where he's currently going. This is a run-first offense, at least until Deshaun Watson returns from suspension. Now 28 years old, it's concerning Cooper has dealt with ankle, chest, foot, hamstring, knee and quad issues over the last three seasons.

— 2022 Fantasy Rookie to watch: David Bell, WR

Bell (ADP: 223) is an advanced route-runner and his YAC ability should make him an impact player early in his career. He didn't feature the explosive athletic traits some of the higher-ranked prospects did, but he was one of the most productive players at the position in the entire nation during his time at Purdue.
