Here's your 2022 preview of the Cincinnati Bengals, the 18th of 32 team profiles during draft season:
— 2022 Fantasy MVP: Tee Higgins, WR
Higgins (ADP: 33) gets the nod here over Ja'Marr Chase (ADP: 9) simply because of price tag. I expect both to be elite this season, but you can get Higgins a full two rounds later. From Week 12 on, Higgins was PPR's WR7, with Chase one spot behind at WR8.
— 2022 Fantasy Sleeper: Hayden Hurst, TE
Hurst (ADP: 219) is replacing CJ Uzomah, who was a borderline TE1 in 2021 based on points per game. He's essentially free in drafts and is a solid target for the later rounds if you wait on position.
— 2022 Fantasy Bust: Joe Burrow, QB
I don't believe Burrow (ADP: 58) is actually going to bust, but I do quarrel with where he's being drafted. The other quarterbacks who are being drafted in this range either are more proficient with their legs or feature more volume in the pass game. Burrow's elite efficiency from 2021 will have to hold for him to provide value at this cost — he finished as fantasy's QB8 a year ago.
— 2022 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Kendric Pryor, WR
Pryor (ADP: NA) was undrafted out of Wisconsin. He's currently battling for a spot on Cincinnati's 53-man roster, but will most likely end up on the practice squad. He's had an impressive training camp and finished with a game-high four receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown against Arizona in the Bengals' first preseason game. Pro Football Focus graded the former Badger as the second-best wide receiver (91.0) for his standout performance, behind only Pittsburgh rookie George Pickens (91.2), who has fantasy investors salivating.
