Ever since Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige added 'Fantastic Four' to the slate in 2019, fans have been eagerly awaiting details about the upcoming reboot.
John Krasinski's appearance as Mr Fantastic in 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness' only amped up the excitement around the film. While the role of Reed Richards may still be p for grabs, latest reports indicate that fan-favourites Vanessa Kirby and Stranger Things' breakout star Joseph Quinn have landed roles in the film. For long, the two have been fan-casted to play Sue Storm and Johnny Storm. According to the latest reports, it would appear that these fan-cast are getting closer to actual hires.
Unconfirmed reports state that the actors will officially sign on for the film after the actors and writers strike in Hollywood.
Buzz on social media indicated that 'The Bear' star Ebon Moss-Bachrach has landed the role of Ben Grimm aka The Thing in the film, but it’s unclear if there is any truth to these reports.
Prior to this, reports claimed that Antonio Banderas was also tapped to play the role of the supervillain Galactus. It is said that the cosmic entity that consumes planets will play the main villain in this story.
Amidst all the talk of the new Fantastic Four, an old video of Vanessa expressing her eagerness to be a part of the MCU has now gone viral. "Vanessa Kirby basically confirmed she's playing Sue," the video was captioned. In the clip, the actress said "it would be an honour" to join the MCU and even called Kevin Feige a 'visionary'.
Meanwhile, Jack Quaid, who was rumoured to be playing Johnny Storm, debunked the viral claims. In a tweet, he wrote, “Hello everyone. Nope. Not playing Johnny Storm but hey I’m flattered. Now that you’re here though, donate to the @sagaftra foundation if you can!”
Set to be directed by WandaVision's Matt Shakman, the film is currently slated for a May 2025 release.
