Fans have trolled "glass" Conor McGregor after the Irishman compared his impressive physique to that of the "Hulk".
McGregor, 33, recently made a return to full MMA training and has been spotted working out inside his usual SBG gym HQ in Ireland alongside long-time coach John Kavanagh. Since breaking his leg in defeat by Dustin Poirier last year, McGregor has shown off an impressive physique having started his recovery, ballooning to around 190lb in weight.
The Irishman posted his latest tribute to his bulked physique on Instagram, with the caption: "Think Hulk and Bane but with the bread of Bruce Wayne." Fans were quick to dismiss McGregor's comparison and trolled him online, with one commenting: "And the legs of Mr Glass." This was made in reference to the character from Samuel L. Jackson's 'Unbreakable 'trilogy by M. Night Shyamalan.
Another added: "You can't be Bane and Hulk at the same time you freight train." One fan agreed: "Bane or Hulk wouldn't have snapped their ankle like a twig. Dustin is your daddy." One fan continued to troll McGregor: "Except Hulk and Bane are over 5'8 and they have endurance." Another commenter defended McGregor: "I feel ashamed of my boy Khabib [Nurmagomedov]. My boy is retired while McGregor is trying to comeback after a big injury. There are levels to this."
One fan dismissed McGregor's analogy: "Hulk got his a** beat by Thanos and Bane got his ass kicked by batman, not a good analogy there." Another fan concluded: "Bro you have got to win a fight. I’m a fan and supporter but you’re making it harder and harder to defend you."
McGregor's impressive new physique is testament to an increase in weight training following his injury last year. The Irish star's comeback is expected to be behind schedule, given he only just made a return to full MMA training. McGregor first began hitting pads and heavy bags with boxing gloves, before fresh hopes were offered by footage of him kicking with his previously-broken leg.

Recently, McGregor returned to the SBG gym where he began training MMA again, including marking up Kavanagh's face during a grappling session. It was the first time McGregor was able to take part in full ground work since his second defeat by Poirier last year.
His new ripped stature is expected to signal a switch to 170lb, where he will plot his route to become three-weight champion. But former rival Max Holloway believes he may opt against making a historic comeback after a successful career in the UFC to date. "With the Conor thing, he didn't really come out and say he's coming back," Holloway explained on MMA Hour.
"He did say 'I'm coming back', but there's no mark he put down. "At the end of the day, I don't blame him - why would he come back? "We'll see what happens, I think that a fight with [lightweight champion Charles] Oliveira is way more fun and more possible actually."
