Fans think Taylor Swift’s Bejeweled music video teases Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)

Taylor Swift released the second music video from her new album Midnights today, and in true Swift fashion, fans think it contains major clues about her next album.

The singer is known for hiding easter eggs in her music videos that give fans hints at what’s to come.

Bejeweled’s music video comes with potentially major news — that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is the next album Swift is set to record.

Aside from a top cast — including Laura Dern, the Haim sisters, Dita Von Teese, Pat McGrath and Jack Antonoff — fans believe the music video features a number of references to Swift’s third album.

One major clue is that the colour of the numbers in the lift all appear to correlate to Swift’s albums in order.

The singer is seen hitting the purple number three button, referencing that Speak Now is her third album.

The 13th floor is the same shade of purple as number three — another hint that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be her 13th album.

The number three references don’t end there: Swift also sits on a clock set to three o’clock in front of a purple background which is the same shade as the dress she wore on the Speak Now cover.

The Bejeweled music video also features instrumental versions of Enchanted and Long Live, which are two songs from Speak Now.

If that’s not enough to convince you, Swift released the new music video on October 25, the anniversary of Speak Now’s 2010 release.

Swift has been rerecording her first six albums, so far releasing Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version). As well as Speak Now, she is also expected to record her self-titled first album, 1989, and Reputation.

The singer is rerecording her albums after a dispute with Scooter Braun, who bought ownership of her albums and wouldn’t let her buy them from him without signing a non-disclosure agreement.

By rerecording the six albums, Swift is creating new master tracks of the songs that she owns and can therefore profit from.
