Fans think Barack Obama unintentionally recreated a Key & Peele sketch while greeting USA men’s hoops

On Wednesday, former President Barack Obama greeted members of the Team USA men’s basketball team ahead of their trip to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.

The meeting itself was very casual and amicable, but the way Obama greeted each member of the group instantly reminded fans of one of the most famous comedy sketches involving the former president.

The beloved sketch comedy series Key & Peele once did a very funny segment where Jordan Peele’s President Obama tended to greet each member of an event differently. The results were hilarious.

Obama previously greeted a Team USA contingent with roughly the same manner of approach, which makes all of this even more on point.

Well, watching Obama greet various NBA players like LeBron James and Steph Curry and other members of the Team USA contingent immediately reminded us of that famous Key & Peele sketch.

Watch for yourself, and you’ll see what we mean.

Alright, that’s pretty uncanny, isn’t it? The video went basically in uniform to the Key & Peele segment.

Fans quickly pointed out the similarities in what’s turned out to be an absolutely delightful mirror between fiction and reality.
