Fans thank Emily Atack's 'incredibly brave' account in Asking For It? documentary

Fans have reacted to a tell all documentary where actress and comedian, Emily Atack, opens up about sexual harassment online. In the Asking For It? documentary, which aired on Tuesday night on BBC2, Emily explores why she is exposed to sexual harassment online on a daily basis, and searches for an explanation why the blame for unwanted sexual attention can be placed on the victim.

Emily bravely delves into her own story, revealing things that have happened to her as a result of attracting unwanted sexual attention from a young age. She opens up her life, and her social media private messages, to the public, as she attempts to understand why she and others are suffering this abuse and what can be done to stop this.

And soon after the show started airing, Emily's fans were quick to thank her on social media for raising awareness and applauded her bravery for speaking out.

@jonnyhusband1 wrote: "An incredibly brave thing to do. Well done."

While @allontheboard shared: "We support all those who have received and continue to receive unsolicited explicit photos and are victims of sexual harassment and online abuse. So much more needs to be done to put a stop to it. Thank you @EmAtack for raising awareness."

And @humbug83 wrote: "It's disgusting what Emily Atack has to endure online every day. Good on her for speaking out about it #EmilyAtack."

While @nellietellie shared: "The Emily Atack programme on BBC2 now is a hard watch but good God it's such a very important programme on online sexual harassment Full marks @EmAtack and @BBC for making this #AskingForIt."

And @NevCannon adds: "#EmilyAtack #AskingForIt thank you for bringing the extent of this horrific trend to our intention. I am horrified that men are harassing girls and women in this way. It probably means little, but I am so sorry that this goes on & the suffering you and others have had to endure."
