Fans surprised as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield both appear on This Morning after rumours of rift

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were on This Morning today - despite some predicting both wouldn't be presenting. Ex host Eamonn Holmes had already waded into the debate saying he thought Phil would be a 'no show' on his GB News Breakfast program this morning.

And fans watched eagerly to see what would happen - but the ITV's This Morning opened with a piano number - with Holly and Phil seeming very jolly indeed amidst the speculation that their relationship had some difficulties. ITV had already said both would be on the sofa today, but that didn't stop the speculation.

j1904 felt the duo were doing their best to seem cheery: "Holly & Phil trying too hard already!." Dan added: "They’re either fine and the press have blown this out of proportion (they wouldn’t do that would they) or they’re brilliant actors."

At the 'today's headlines section fans were hoping a certain issue would be discussed - but they were leftdisappointed. William80155174 said: "Holly 'let's talk about the top stories this week" One of the top stories going around is about Holly and Phil... but they won't mention that will they."

DavidMackayy said: "Holly and Phil should count themselves lucky that we’ve just had Eurovision so they have something to talk about other than their feud #ThisMorning." Jean Jones added: "Talking about what’s in the headlines when it’s THEM that’s the majority of today's stories in the papers."

Eamonn Holmes earlier attacked the pair, saying they don't bring any 'special talent' to the show. Holmes, 61, who was a presenter on the ITV show for 15 years before being let go by the This Morning team in 2021 where he was replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Eamonn wrongly predicted: "I reckon it’s a no-show from him today. When the public sniff that they’re as false as those who know them know them to be then the public will give up and stop watching and that will be the end of that. The programme could survive. It doesn’t matter who presents the programme. And then they don’t bring any special talent."
