Fans root for Aimee Lou Wood casting in Beatles biopic following Instagram hint

The Beatles movie is officially in the works, and our John, Paul, George and Ringo have been revealed. They will be played by Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn and Barry Keoghan, respectively.

But behind every good Beatle, there’s a legendary love interest... or two. For George Harrison, one of those legendary love interests was Pattie Boyd, the British model and photographer who epitomised the swinging sixties.

Pattie Boyd married George Harrison in 1966, during the height of the Beatles' popularity. It all came crashing down in 1977, when Boyd and Harrison’s relationship fell apart. Boyd divorced Harrison and moved on with mutual friend Eric Clapton, whom she married in 1979.

While Boyd and Clapton stayed together for ten years, she has described George Harrison as her true soulmate.

And with the Beatles biopic announced as not just one but four total films, there’s a chance that Boyd may play a considerable role in Harrison’s chapter. So, who to play her?

Fans think they’ve found the perfect casting, with The White Lotus actress Aimee Lou Wood bearing a striking resemblance to the Taunton-born model.

To make matters more interesting, Wood has been interacting with posts on Instagram that include old photos of George Harrison and Pattie Boyd, such as a post by @avamarant that shows a carousel of images of Harrison and Boyd on their honeymoon in Barbados in 1966. Aimee Lou Wood also shared this Instagram post to her personal story at the time.

The Stockport-born Sex Education actress is currently receiving widespread acclaim for her role as good-time British girl Chelsea in The White Lotus season three, where she stars opposite Charlotte le Bon, Walton Goggins and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

In the series, she sports sixties-style clothes with a 2025 twist. “Aimee and I both love the 1960s,” costume designer Alex Bovaird told the Standard while explaining Chelsea’s outfits. “We put her in a lot of micro mini and cut-off dresses for dinner, plus she’s got some crochet and psychedelic colours for beach and pool.”

However, fans will have to wait for their chance to see anyone as Pattie Boyd, with the Beatles biopics not set for release for another three years. The four films, directed by Sam Mendes, are set to be released "in proximity" to each other in April 2028.

This marks the first time The Beatles and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film. So stay tuned to see who will play those muses.
