Britain's Got Talent fans react to final verdict as Irish teen Cillian O'Connor places third

Irish teen magician Cillian O'Connor from Meath has placed third in the Britain's Got Talent final.

The 14-year-old, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) performed a special card trick on long-time judge Simon Cowell, before making co-host Ant disappear in a poof of confetti, which ignited the crowd into a sensational standing ovation.

Despite voting lines being closed to viewers in the Republic of Ireland, the young teen still placed in the final three with clown Viggo Venn and Lilliana Clifton.

"Thank you everyone, it has been an incredible journey," he said following the verdict. Lilliana who placed second, described her own journey as "brilliant."

Viggo said he felt extremely visible after being announced the winner. "Thank you so much for everyone that voted for me," he said before ripping off his shirt and dancing his way through a mini-encore performance.

Following Cillian's third place finish, and Viggo's win, Twitter users vented their frustration at the final verdict.

One said: "I am done with this show. Complete joke."

Another stated: "Not that #ViggoVenn wasn’t entertaining but there were so other acts that deserved to win so much more. This is why the British Public can’t be trusted to vote #BritainsGotTalent"

One final Twitter user said: "And there you have it. Proof that the British public have completely lost the plot."
