Netflix viewers think Joe will ‘gets taste of his own medicine’ as 'chilling' new You trailer drops

Netflix has dropped the trailer for the new season of You and fans think Joe could finally be about to get his comeuppance. The psychological thriller first aired back in 2018 and has gained a huge following.

The Season 3 finale was released in October 2021, so fans have been waiting over 12 months for the next instalment. As always, it ended with a dramatic cliffhanger - on this occasion it was Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) fleeing the US after faking his own death.

But as the dangerously charming Joe sets sail to the UK to adopt his new identity and pursue yet another true love, Netflix’s chilling new trailer of ‘You’ shows the tables may have finally turned on him.

Now posing as a professor in London called Jonathon Moore, Joe discovers that he might not be the only killer on the loose as he tries to figure out who is targeting his new friend group of wealthy socialites.

Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the new trailer, with many relieved karma seems to be coming for Joe.

A fan said they "literally got chills" after watching the brand new teaser while one ‘You’ watcher shared their delight saying “the hunter becomes the hunted”, while another fan commented: “I’m here for this. Finally something different I was getting tired of watching the same story over and over.”

One person on Twitter said it is an "interesting" twist in events while another replied saying "Not Joe finally learning what it’s like to be stalked."

The trailer confirmed the return of Marienne Bellamy (Tati Gabrielle), who in the final episode of Season 3, fled the country after discovering the truth about murderous Joe.

This had fans speculating it could be someone from Joe’s past coming back for revenge, with many hoping it will be Joe’s Season 2 love interest, Love Quinn. That may be difficult, considering she was killed by Joe, however viewers of the show have high hopes.

Twitter user, Lora, wrote: "What if love isn’t really dead and she’s the killer?" with many replying to her saying "that's what I'm hoping for" and "hopefully or this season is whack."

You Season 4 will be released in two parts, with episodes one to five available to stream in the UK from Thursday, February 9 at 8am. Episodes six to ten will follow on Thursday, March 9 at 8am.
