Fans react as ‘club legend’ Laurens De Bock released by Leeds United

Leeds United have released their retained list for the 2022/2023 season including Belgian defender Laurens De Bock. The left-back signed for Leeds for around £1.5 million in January 2018, featuring just seven times before a host of loan moves.

He will be known most for his dreadful performance in the 2-2 draw with Derby County, where he was at fault for the first goal thanks to a mix up with Liam Cooper before a string of poor passes and mistakes gifted the Rams with chances.

De Bock then moved to K.V. Oostende after falling behind Barry Douglas and Leif Davis in the pecking order. There were further unsuccessful spells at Sunderland, ADO Den Haag and Belgian club Zulte Waregem.
