A woman took to Twitter to thank presenter Laura Woods for the free dress she gave her for a sporting event.
Last week, sports presenter Laura Woods posted an Instagram story in hope of giving away a dress she had ordered in two sizes for the Sport Industry Awards, which took place at the end of April. Within hours, a fan DM’d Laura on Instagram in hope to claim the dress.
The message to Laura said: “Omgggg! Me me! I’m hosting our internal staff awards at Wolves next week and strugs for a dress but this is beaut, and I’m a 12. How much is it? X”.

Laura then replied to Gemma saying: “Ohh Gemma you can have it for free! What day? Xxx I could send it out on Monday next day delivery so it makes it by Tuesday hopefully? X”
It turns out, Laura kept to her word and sent Gemma the black cocktail dress. Yesterday, along with images of Gemma wearing the dress at her staff awards, the tweet that has since received over 2 million views said: “Channelling my inner Laura Woods tonight… literally!
“Thank you soooooooo much @laura_woodsy for the dress! I still cant believe it. You've made my year.” Gemma responded to the tweet saying: “Oh my god Gemma you look gorgeous!! So chuffed! Have an amazing night, you look a million dollars”.
Fans also took to Twitter to praise Laura for her gesture of good will as one said: “Love this! Such a feel good story to start my Thursday!”, while a second added: “You do look stunning. Laura that was so lovely of you to send the dress to Gemma, so lovely.”
