Fans plead with Eamonn Holmes to stop Phillip Schofield 'bullying'

Followers of Eamonn Holmes have pleaded with him to stop his constant attacks on former colleague Phillip Schofield. On his GB News breakfast show this morning Eamonn again laid into Phil, urging anyone who has kissed him to ‘let us know.’

And the ex presenter of This Morning who has had a long-running feud with Schofield claimed he was ‘happy to stand by’ him - until he revealed he’d been lying. Schofield has revealed that Holly Willoughby did not know about the “unwise, but not illegal” affair, and has apologised for lying to her.

Former This Morning host Phillip, 61, said that his TV career was over after admitting to having an affair with a much younger male colleague - but also claimed that he is a “victim of hate” and that he has “lost everything” as a consequence of his lies.

Today Holly read out a statement on air which she had written herself, describing how she had given her ‘love and support to someone who was not telling the truth’. Eamonn Holmes said today: “I put it to anyone watching today that if you have kissed Phillip Schofield let us know. Let us see if that figure of one grows to the figure that I believe it is probably at.”

“He’s admitted he is a liar. You should see the emails, the texts and the messages I’ve been sent over the past week. I think he’s getting off very very lucky.’ Like everybody else he lied to me, I was happy to stand by him until I found out that he was lying... This isn’t about him being gay, not in the slightest.”

But on Eamonn’s Instagram page fans took him to task and accused him of ‘bullying’. Szczesnowiczlyn said: “I can’t believe people talk this way about another human being the way they do in this cowardly anonymous way, it’s still bullying. He has made a mistake and we are all allowed to be forgiven. As for Eamonn he’s practically led the way to make sure Phillip Schofield goes down! A kind person would not be capable of that. It’s disgusting and frightening the way he has spouted off. We all know it’s because he’s mad at ITV.”

Jo135265 added: “I think you are a DISGRACE. Stop for one moment and think of what you are doing and the impact this may have on Phillip’s wife, daughters and his elderly mother. My god do you have no conscience??? I cannot believe what you have done and what you continue to do.”

Youshopweship2022 said: “You're coming across as a massive bully. Saying it once is enough we don’t need to keep seeing your name with a new comment everyday. Becoming boring.”

Holly Willoughby read a statement about Phillip Schofield's departure from This Morning (ITV)

Freyamaypops added: “Hope you are going to be a good person today, instead of the vindictive, jealous, bully you have become.”

However, not everyone agreed - Glendaburdon added:”I don’t usually comment but just felt compelled to say - Well done you for speaking up Eamonn! And more importantly - Telling the truth. God bless.”

On This Morning Holly said: “It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil. And I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have – shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on, and full of questions.

“You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV, and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process. And it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone.”
