Fans of Jamiroquai can purchase the frontman's Scottish bolthole for £500k

Jamiroquai frontman and enigmatic singer-songwriter Jay Kay has put his Scottish bolthole on the market for around £500,000, the Daily Record reports. The star purchased the secluded cottage for £150,000 when it was "just a barn" 20 years ago, but is now selling up.

The Space Cowboy and Virtual Insanity singer fell in love with the four-bedroom retreat back in 2002 after being treated "like an ordinary bloke" in the local pub. It is about nine miles from the nearest town and sits in around eight acres of land.

The 52-year-old pop star regularly visits his hideaway at Redpoint west of Gairloch, sometimes by helicopter. However, he has decided that now is the time to part ways.

Estate agents Macleod & MacCallum said: “Built circa 1881, the original croft house has been sympathetically restored to a high standard and retains much of its original character, representing an ideal fusion of traditional and modern living.”
