League of Ireland fans lost their minds last night after Finn Harps announced their goal scorers in a 2-0 friendly win over Treaty United last night.
Dubbed the greatest league in the world by many supporters, fans flocked to social media after the Donegal club claimed 'Rey Mysterio' bagged a goal in the behind-closed-doors clash.
With no fans in attendance, Harps announced that new signing Yoyo Mahdy and Mysterio, likely referencing the masked WWE superstar, had gotten on the scoresheet in Abbotstown.
Taking to Twitter, Harps said: "Goals from Yoyo Mahdy and Rey Mysterio secure the win in another good run out."
And fans were quick to joke about the name of the mystery man, with one fan saying: "There is hardly a fella called Rey Mysterio playing League of Ireland".
"619 Boulevard, Ballybofey," another joked.
Treaty United, Longford Town and Cobh Ramblers got in on the act as the WWE jokes poured in.
Ollie Horgan's side are lining up a friendly against Cork City next weekend before taking on Sligo Rovers as preparations for the new Premier Division season continues.
