Fight fans are debating who 'won' the argument between Conor McGregor and Tyson Fury after the pair engaged in a recent Twitter spat.
McGregor initiated the argument with Fury after replying to a picture the heavyweight champion posted of his longtime rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The Irishman took aim at Fury for not backing up Billy Joe Saunders' father in a scuffle that took place at his son's fight with Canelo Alvarez last year.
Fury later responded by referring to McGregor's assault on a man in a Dublin pub and mocked the UFC star for tapping out against Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz.
Fans were quick to point out an old video of Fury praising McGregor's stardom in MMA, which has led some pro-McGregor fans to state he got the better of the Twitter exchange.
"Sorry but McGregor takes the W here: caught on Video celebrating his win, exposed by Conor for saying he will train you but he revealed you've never spoken to him," the user wrote.
"Has a better resume and is a bigger star than you, making fun of him for tapping but you've never fought MMA."
Another user wrote to Fury: "McGregor is a lot more well known than you and if u was in the UFC you’d be tapping in like 15 seconds to be fair."
But some fans defended Fury and brought up McGregor's recent losing form in the octagon as the reason for his recent Twitter activity.
"He might be more known, doesn't mean anything though, does it? One is champion in his sport, the other has to post videos of him talking s**** because he can't win a fight in his sport," a user wrote.
A second added: "Fury is the heavyweight champion of the world, that trumps anything in MMA as an achievement."

And a third said McGregor is feeding off of Fury's limelight: "McGregor doing what he does best, staying relevant on the back of who is hot right now... stop feeding him and he might just go away."
The spat between the pair fizzled out when McGregor replied to a video a fan posted of Fury stating he couldn't name three other fighters in MMA.
"Conor McGregor is MMA, isn't he? That's it. I couldn't name you three more fighters in MMA, I just couldn't," Fury said in the video.
And after seeing the video, McGregor tweeted to Fury: "It’s all good, we forget it. Fair play Tyson. God bless ya mate."
Fury was also seen in the video celebrating McGregor's 40-second knockout win against Donald Cerrone in January 2020.
